1. Boundaries of the Course
The boundaries of the golf course are the fences, white lines and/or white posts surrounding the same. A ball lying outside these boundaries or inside the enclosure/ plantation around the greenkeeper’s buildings at the 2nd, 3rd and 9th holes is out of bounds. (Rule 27-1)
2. Players must on no account enter the surrounding fields in search of golf balls
3. Water Hazards
Yellow marker posts and/or lines define water hazards on the course. All unmarked ditches and anything of a similar nature are also water hazards. Red marker posts and/or lines define lateral water hazards on the course. Relief may be taken under Rule 26-1.
4. Obstructions
The following are immovable obstructions from which a player may take relief from interference (Rule 24-2a) under Rule 24-2b
1) Artificially surfaced roads and paths (including the road across the 1st and 9th holes) including the sides and edging of same
2) All weather shelters and secured course furniture
3) All man-made covers, sprinkler and drainage covers
4) The planted area and decking in front of the clubhouse
All other paths are an integral part of the course and the ball should be played as it lies.
5. Stakes Trees
If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b (Immovable obstruction)
6. Bunker Rakes
All rakes should be placed in bunkers and should be treated as movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies)
7. Stones in Bunkers
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies)
